Over the past several years I have honed techniques that capture New York City in a unique way. In this E-book, you will learn not only about the icons you see photographed every day but also the hidden secrets this city has to offer and how to best set your mind and your camera to capture amazing photos. We will dive into how the different seasons bring out the city's character, what early mornings and late nights have to offer, and what you would find in my backpack for a shoot. We will get technical and practical. Finally, if you’re like me and you enjoy long walks or randomly stumbling on what the city offers, I’ll map out my favorite walking photography tours guaranteed to give you the personality of New York.
I also want to be clear that this book is for photographers of all levels using all standards of equipment. The photo examples in this book that I have taken will not indicate what camera I shot with because it truly does not matter. Some were shot on my phone, some were shot on my DSLR and some even come straight off of my dad’s old 1983 Pentax film camera. Photographers are constantly asked “what camera do you use?” This leads people to buy that camera and expect to replicate the photos of the photographer they admire. However, that never happens. What is important to learn is one’s use of light, composition, and where you are in relation to the subject. I challenge you to create a self-awareness of what style of photography you enjoy and what your style is as an artist.
This is my photographer's guide to one of the most diverse and visually stimulating cities in the world.
